What are you supposed to do if you get something from Matty and it's damaged? How are they with replacements?

There's a post in the askMatty forum I adore: “Up Digital River w/o a PAddle?”
Truly epic.
Now..why has all the trap chatter disappeared? No news COULD be good news.. I suppose.

All I know is that you have to request a refund or replacement within 30 days of purchase. I'm curious as to whether or not they refund the original shipping cost for a refund request or pay for the shipping of a replacement.

There will be a new GB musical card this Halloween…look for the cel phone on cover. Which brings me to this: If Halloween is soon to come…why no chatter/announcement of the Mattel ghost trap? Won't do anyone any good to call their local GB's if we don't have the right equipment.

I believe they pay shipping on a replacement, as they should.

But I highly doubt they would refund the original shipping cost on a refund, nor should they. It's a cost incurred. I don't know of any businesses that refund your shipping cost in a refund situation.

There's been a healthy amount of chatter, you can't expect a constant stream over the course of several months. It's slated for a October release, we'll probably see stuff cropping up in the latter-half of September… It's only the 4th after all.

As for the card, ProtonCharging has a couple of photos of it: Link. That being said, why did you post about it here, RoastedZuul? It didn't have anything to do with the Mattel products.

Ever so sorry…card was GB related and I thought it would be a nice segue to asking about trap news. I realize that any “product chatter” doesn't go on forever..but someone else asked (politely) about the trap release on Matty's forums..and no moderator responded. 53 views, though..so I don't feel as if I'm the only rabid ghostheadsmile
And yes, I am very interested in Mattel's trap..because my 20 year old build finally Gave Up The Ghost(sorry, couldn't resist)2 years ago. I have been fortunate all these years with a working pedal & doors linked with coaxial cable(!). Not Foster quick connects, but it made me happy. And, after all…isn't that what fandom is all about?

I don't see why they shouldn't refund the original shipping price as well in case of a defective product. After all, the customer is paying for the shipment of the product in the condition it was advertised, not a defective(and therefore unadvertised) version of the product.

At least one major business that I know of does this: Amazon.com refunds the original shipping cost and pays for return shipping if the product arrives to a customer defective. It seems to me quite a fair business practice when a company takes complete responsibility for its mistakes, rather than leaving the customer to foot the shipping bill.
