Thanks for the input guys. Glad I'm not the only one with questions. haha

Right. The buy it now sale is different from the auction. If I remember correctly the auction we were watching didn't even have the buy it now option (though the seller was taking offers through the “Ask the Seller” function and posting them in the item description). Interesting that 3 have been sold through buy it now (and we can still find them, or at least 2 of them), while all info regarding the auctioned one is gone.

but i do know the law did not shut down an auction

How do you know that? Why does it seem unlikely that maybe eBay did terminate that auction.

its hard to be positive but ive seen alot of stolen stuff get auctioned off and ebay hasnt done really anything. And a seller who has listed one for the first time has a slim chance of getting caught. Ebay would have to investigate and i doubt they want to spend money on one stolen mattel figurine. Why wouldnt they bust the other guy who sold three of them?

and by the time they actually get your “its a stolen item” it will sell way before that and by the time they message the seller its usually gone, these havent lasted 2 days on ebay , not even close enough time for ebay to shut them down

Are you sure that's the same auction? I remember the description simply reading RARE and I think the user name was different.

On another note, this eBay user, heta77777 has sold 3 Ray Stantz figures. One for $120, and two for $90, all within the last week.

Edit: GhstbstrLMLIII stated the item number for the auction and it is different from the heta77777 auctions. Maybe this guy did get caught???

I know I reported the auction and got an e-mail stating that it ended due to the seller going against eBay regulations, whether that was because its a stolen item, or whether its because he was letting people bid to buy it outside of eBay in the questions on the item, I'm not sure.

how does ebay determine whats purchased or stolen , they can take your word for it but is that how it works? They can contact mattel but still will that happen before the item sells? Now if he told buyers to submit buy it nows or he would do deals outside of ebay then he would for sure get shut down, i dunno

Yea, he didn't list a Buy it Now price, but was allowing people to make offers of $80+shipping in the questions part of the item, and then stupidly enough was posting them to the item. Not legal. That's circumventing eBay policies.

Have any UKers received their egons yet? It said 10-20 days on the delivery which is pretty much up. Just curious, starting to get anxious. People will be receiving the ebay Rays before I even have my Egon (;_

Im from Puerto Rico and Im still waiting for my egon and it said on my invoice that it was shipped international south america and Puerto Rico is not on south america so they could have shipped it priority mail or economy postal, Puerto Rico is not on the USA but it is the same postal service (USPS) and I have recieved things from ebay that have got here faster from a normal joe than a big company like mattycollector.

They need to get better shipping methods for international buyers.
