Thanks Batman2. I suspect mine will take the full window minus a few days like last time. Just wanted to check with others that were international if they actually had a working link for the tracking number.

Hmmm.

I am still so undecided about this. I was going to go for the 6“ figures, as I like that size, they're practical, and less ‘doll-like’ than ones in cloth costumes. I liked the Egon figure I saw, but the I really don't like the sculpt of the Ray head, the fact that the proton packs don't come off, and most of all, the fact that they have the same body. Very lazy on Mattel's part. Id have also preferred to get the 6” series due to the RGB line that's planned, but I expect the same approach will be taken with them.

I prefer the 12“ figure of Ray after all. Problem is the price is going to incur a lot of import tax, and although the head sculpt has it's issues, its better than the 6” version.

If I did get this figure, I'd plan to get the set, but dont want poor head sculpts or identical body accessories/detail, like the 6" is getting.

Is it worth it I wonder?

Overall I'm not impressed by Mattell's efforts. After 25 years of waiting, this isn't good enough really.

Such a negative outlook…and I understand that that is your opinion

this figures are the first movie-likeness figures we've ever gotten, and they are, in my opinion, damned good.

Hella-Good even.

I agree about the body sculpts and the fact that they didn't totally get the likeness, but these are still the best action figures we could get. I would've preferred a nice bust or resin figures with no articulation point but I guess they're better than nothing at all.

I bought one 6“ Ray and two 12”. I'm probably going to take the proton pack and trap from the box, put them on display and leave Ray in the box

The likely reason for the reused body sculpt, is due to it saving money… but the thing to keep in mind is they don't have a limitless budget, it's probably why we're getting such a stretched out timeline for figure releases, rather than a whole wave at once.

Guess what…?

6 days on and both figures are still available, at least we know now that when the next wave of figures come out we should be able to secure them and not have to all order in the first few minutes of them going live on the site.

Heh, indeed. It's why I ordered mine as quickly as I could… thankfully the regular figures seem to have been produced in greater quantities then the ‘slimed’ varients.

I think a certain portion of the slimed Egon were sent to the SDCC so there were fewer for the Matty site, so dealers snapped them up in bulk and stuck them on eBay.

Yeah, that kinda reassured me but I'm still going to order the rest in the first 30min of their release… Not sure if this is due to Ray having the weakest likeness and the less interesting accessories.

Still surprised that the 12" is still available, though.

Well, it's a week later and both are still available. (Though the new MOTU figure is sold out.) My group of rays is due in tomorrow. I remember someone saying that they increased the amount they produced. I wonder if they are passed the number they had produced for Egon and it's the “extras” that are left, or if these just aren't selling as fast.
