Actually, that's not what I meant. Here, THIS is what I was referring to:

So you didn't bother to watch the episode you just posted above?

What do you want from me? I had enough time to dig it out, not watch it all the way through.

Good grief. That is, without a doubt, the most atrotious rendition of Inspector Gadget I've ever seen. It's like they took some of the more angular character designs that you see crop up in some of the poorer examples of anime and went wild with that type of style.

I also listened to what was being puported to be the new show's theme song. It was not a theme song, it was just a cluster of ‘investigator’ notes and a police siren.

And of course, it just won't be the same without Don Adams.

It breaks my heart to see Inspector Gadget get treated like this. Enough of this faux-edgy design and go back to a more realistic style, the type that was put to good use in the 1980s and early 1990s and never got tired.

He's also going to be some kind of a ghost-hunter in this version* if it makes you feel any better. Still, I guess we'll just have to wait ‘til it premieres and then judge it.

And, on that note, I believe it’s time we got back on topic. New Ghostbusters merchandise and/or films and TV series…what would you like to see the most in the wake of The Video Game?

*Though I seem to remember someone making an offhand comment about how IG would make a good Ghostbuster, but I can't remember the exact specifics.

That would be interesting, but they already established that Robo-buster was all wrong. On topic and completely unrelated - I would like a Robo-buster action figure!

I'd love someone to rerelease of all the Kenner toys along with all the other merchandise that ever came out. With regards to brand new stuff the only thing I'd like is a score album of Shuki Levys music.

If anyone was to ever make another Real Ghostbusters cartoon I would like it to be a bit more like the movie. Have slimer as an enemy, give them back their khaki coloured jumpsuits, give them the equipment from the movies, give egon black glasses instead of red, make the characters hair styles/hair colour more in line with the movie versions etc etc. They should use shuki levys old music but also get him back to make new musical peices for the show. They should also get all the old writers, animators and voice actors back if they can. The one thing they must not do is give it an anime look which is what seems to be happening with almost every american cartoon these days which I hate.

Actually i heard LeMarche, will be supplying the lead role (thats what i heard ). so, i geuss the acting wont be all that bad.

And amen, to the older style of character design, ive had enough of that pseudo-anime character designs. the more comic-booky style was much more enjoyable and entertaining to watch back in the 80s/90s era of animation.

and it sickens me to say, that if we were to get a new GB cartoon, it would turn out something like this, the creative input would mostly be from the creators ofcourse, but the other producers will ‘modernize’ the look and feel, probably a new theme song, it would all be rehashed and regurgitated and then spat out lookin like the new TMNT, taking away everything that made the original so enjoyable. cause ofcourse, if they were going to resurrect the animated franchise, it would pointed at a younger audience, and therefore reworked and tweaked for the modern time. but if its done RIGHT, and put into the right hands, then we could get something special. im lookin more toward the direct to video-movie route, it would make more sense.

and im always giving open arms to new merchandise anyday. no problems with that what so ever.

I created a thread on this topic a couple of years ago. I hate how the american animation industry has changed the general look of its cartoons to a more anime/japanese style. In the last few years its been done with he-man, turtles and transformers. No doubt if Ghostbusters was brought back they'd do the same.

Q: “Would you like to see GB3 made?”

A: Yeah! Only give Harold Ramis blonde hair and red glasses, give Bill Murray a hunky pompadour, and give all the guys different colored jumpsuits!
