Would you like New Real Ghostbusters stuff?

I created a thread on this topic a couple of years ago. I hate how the american animation industry has changed the general look of its cartoons to a more anime/japanese style. In the last few years its been done with he-man, turtles and transformers. No doubt if Ghostbusters was brought back they'd do the same.

Actually, the newest Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were cartoons Americans could be proud of, the newer TMNT was a lot closer to the source material and tone then its predecessor, and the newest He-Man handled things in a much better way (for instance, Prince Adam wasn't just a recolour of He-man with more clothes).

Like someone else mentioned, I'd like to see a modern wave of Real Ghostbusters toys that could build in features and greater detail Kenner weren't able to implement.

give Bill Murray a hunky pompadour

If we were going for RGB-style casting for GB3, I'm afraid Henry Winkler would be playing Dr. Venkman.

I don't get you.

I was just pointing out the irrelevance of your post. The topic of this thread is “Would you like New Real Ghostbusters stuff?” ..If they made another cartoon, but styled the characters after their live-action counterparts, then it wouldn't be "The Real Ghostbusters." It might be a good cartoon in its own right, sure, but it wouldn't be the RGB. Understand? So it's just silly to talk about changing the very thing that makes the RGB the RGB and still call it RGB. As silly as giving Harold Ramis crazy blonde hair.

I think he's too old… and Jewy. Maybe they could have casting sessions at an Elvis impersonators' convention.

I would like to see movie figures that look like the characters in the movies. I know they made gozer and slimer and stay puft but what about the ghostbusters. I would love to see figures of the actors. New to the site by the way!

Not that the original still didn't have it's charm though. The comics are great, the old toon is fun.

You know, the new He-Man and Ninja Turtles weren't even anime styled, expect for maybe when they are about to strike, there wasn't much of an anime style to them. Now, if he was gonna say GI Joe Sigma 6 or the nex Transformers I could understand, because those are clearly anime styled (with GI Joe I think atually being an anime in Japan).

As much as I liked the original He-man series, I hated how Filmation use to reuse character models and cels. I know it saved money, but it's horribly noticable and makes it look kind of low budget than it actually is.

I'd love to see new Real Ghostbusters stuff, even a new cartoon. Just as they don't anime style it. Not that I hate Anime style, but I don't think it works well with Ghostbusters.

G.I Joe: Sigma Six was produced by the Japanese animation studio Gonzo, and has (to my knowledge) only aired on FOX and G4, and YTV for you Canadian viewers..depending on your criteria, I do not think Sigma Six would qualify…

Now Transformers (Armada, Energon, Cybertron) on the other hand would qualify…once again depending on criteria..

Now…what were we talking about again…

::edit::

Nevermind. I was wrong. Scratch that.

I understand the question. I'm saying that i would rather have movie figures over real ghostbusters figures because there was never any movie line figures. Why havent we seen these yet? If a new real GB cartoon came out then i would love new ones.

NECA wanted to do Ghostbusters figures, but it was likeness rights which was holding them up.

I think they said they did the monsters first so as to establish the line and get the ball rolling. Maybe we may still see some Ghostbusters figures, now that Bill's gotten all nostalgic.

Hey, King, did you know that NECA's planning to re-release their Slimer figure (and possibly the other Series 1 figures) in the wake of the video game? They're going to repaint him to make him more transparent, and a little more “menacing” as well. This could be a decent inroads to a release of actual Buster figures!
