Wouldn't the proton packs emit a high degree of radiation?

Since they are “unlicensed nuclear accelerators” I wonder if those things would give the Ghostbusters cancer eventually.

Part of the original scrip that was cut said sterility would be a side effect but nothing was mentioned beyond that. It aslso stated that no fisionable material was present in the system just a static charge of some sort.

I think that was just in the wall-current-powered “dummy packs” used for testing purposes.

I don't know about radiation or cancer but there would certainly be a high risk of vibration white finger from those powerful nutrona wands.

I've always told people proton packs cause sterility.

I think it's just a throwaway line from venkman, as the cyclotron in the pack is a particle accelerator rather then an isotope powered device.

You know they cure cancer with Xray, right? Radiation, why can't it be good? No bugs survive this. Have an Healty SafeSex Life; don't wear a condom, strap on your ProtonPack!
